The article discusses the importance of improving soil and water quality in Vietnam, as the country faces drastic water shortages. Agriculture accounts for over 90 percent of the water used in Vietnam. But, erratic weather and rain patterns have meant that farmers need to rely on innovative ways, including rice intensification and integrated pest management systems, to better utilize their limited water supplies.
