There is only one thing certain about the coming century: it will bring with it dramatic changes.
What transformations are necessary in the field of education to prepare this and future generations to adapt to the radically different future they will live in? What is needed to mobilize them to act now to stop or at least
slow the disruptive environmental changes that are locked into our future?
Worldwatch Institute’s upcoming State of the World report, EarthEd: Rethinking Education on a Changing Planet, will bring perspectives from more than 50 education experts from around the world to help answer these questions and inform and inspire education policymakers, school administrators, teachers and professors, community leaders, students, and parents to start making the bold changes to our educational systems that are needed to ensure that, collectively, we are ready for whatever disruptions a changing planet brings.
Beyond the report, in 2017, we’ll be collaborating with our EarthEd Catalyst Network to bring about inspiring new changes in school curricula and cultures, to best prepare the next generations for the challenging times ahead.
