That’s the problem….” No Impact Man’s solution? Extracting consumerism from our culture and replacing it with stronger social connections and healthier living.
I went to the National Mall last Sunday to find a small, functional, solar house–one that I’d enjoy living in. Instead I found giant studio apartments with beds descending from the ceiling on cables and other strange designs that were cool–in a Star Trek kind of way–but not so helpful in promoting the idea that people can live comfortably in an 800 square foot home.
As the figures for obesity and the health risks associated with it continue to rise, there is a need for a global dialogue on the risks of our unhealthy, unsustainable, and inequitable food system. Unfortunately, and contrary to what many viewers may think, this dialogue is not occurring on The Biggest Loser.
