Each week we run three of your responses to the question: Where Would You Like to See More Agricultural Funding Directed?
1. Sandra Kennedy says:
“I would like to see them dispersed with assistance in Haiti.”
2. Ian Walker, Canada says:
“More investment should be directed to supporting marketing of crops, upgrading infrastructure and encouraging producer co – ops.
3. Shenggen Fan, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) says:
“The answer to your question should be regional or even country specific. In general, I would like to see (1) More agricultural research that can lead technologies and farming practices applicable to smallholders, (2) rural roads that link smallholders to markets and market information for smallholders, (3) productive agricultural safety nets, (4) capacity building to strengthen policy making capacity in developing countries, so they can lead and drive their own agricultural development agenda.
