We have a whole new crop of staff and interns joining the Nourishing the Planet team this spring. Today, meet Supriya Kumar.
Supriya Kumar is a Communications Associate with the Nourishing the Planet project. She recently graduated from the American University’s School of International Service, where she earned a degree in International Relations with a focus on International Development and a minor in Economics.Her interest in international development began in high school, where she participated in service trips to India, Cambodia, and Vietnam and had the opportunity to volunteer with organizations, such as Mother Teresa’s Home, Tabitha, and the Phu My Orphanage.
In the summer of 2010, Supriya conducted a research project on the socio-economic impacts of sea water intrusion on coastal farmers in Tamil Nadu, India with the organization Development of Humane Action (DHAN). She speaks English, French, and Hindi, loves to travel and explore places, and especially loves to meet new people.
