Janeen Madan is a 2010 graduate from Vassar College where she earned a double major in Political Science and French, and a minor in Economics. Her experience growing up in Mumbai, India and later attending the United World College in BC, Canada, sparked her interest in international development and environmental sustainability. During an internship at Global Policy Forum in New York, in 2008, Janeen explored her interest in food and agricultural policy through work on the global food crisis. That summer, she also had the opportunity to attend several meetings on the topic at the United Nations.
In the fall of 2008, Janeen studied abroad in Paris, where her coursework focused on French and U.S. policies in Africa. At Vassar, she was a student leader for an organization that promotes sustainable development in northwest Haiti through the sale of Haitian artwork. Janeen recently traveled to Haiti to assess the project and served as a translator for other members of the group. She speaks English, French and Hindi, loves to cook and is always ready for a fun outdoor adventure. Janeen is excited to work with the NtP team!
