We have a whole new crop of staff and interns joining the Nourishing the Planet team this fall. Today, meet Jenna Banning.
Jenna Banning graduated from Dickinson College in 2010 with a B.A. in International Studies.
After graduating, Jenna served with the Public Allies AmeriCorps program, working as an apprentice with Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids, a small non-profit organization dedicated to improving children’s health through garden-based education incorporating science and nutrition lessons. In addition to having fun playing with kids in the dirt, Jenna saw the great potential that agricultural and food policy can play in addressing critical world issues—from conflicts over scarce resources to malnourishment and climate change.
On a personal level, Jenna has long been passionate about food, (as evidenced by her numerous cookbooks and burnt pots from attempting new recipes). She is now excited to be combining this personal passion in food with a professional career, and is thrilled to be working with the Nourishing the Planet team!
