We have a whole new crop of staff and interns joining the Nourishing the Planet team this summer. Today, meet Dana Drugmand.
Dana Drugmand is a student at Mount Holyoke College, where she is majoring in Environmental Studies with a minor in English. After graduating in May 2012, Dana would like to pursue a career in Environmental Journalism. She is passionate about environmental issues and hopes to combine this passion with her interest in writing/journalism.
A native of western Massachusetts, Dana recently traveled to the Wet Tropics area of North Queensland, Australia to study rainforest conservation with the School for Field Studies. After surviving the Category 5 Cyclone Yasi upon arrival in Australia, she conducted an independent research project on direct cyclone experience and its impact on the public’s perception of climate change.
Dana is excited to be working with the Nourishing the Planet team this summer. In her free time she enjoys hiking, kayaking, skiing, exploring the outdoors, and checking out the occasional farmer’s market.
