Innovations to Improve Water Management: Nourishing the Planet at the 2010 Friedman School Symposium

Speaking at the 2010 Friedman School Symposium on Nutrition Security yesterday at Tufts University in Boston, Worldwatch Institute Senior Researcher and Nourishing the Planet co-Project Director, Danielle Nierenberg, highlights some of the innovations taking place on the ground in Africa today that are helping to improve local diets and incomes. Across much of Africa, water is the limiting factor when it comes to agriculture production. Simple and inexpensive innovations that help to better manage existing water can make a big difference in the livelihoods of small scale farmers across sub-Saharan Africa.
