This short video, from Worldwatch Institute’s partner Germanwatch, uses a cultural setting that’s familiar to many of us–drinking with buddies in a bar–to raise a difficult question. Who’s going to pay for our consumer lifestyle and the catastrophic effects it’s having on the climate? Unfortunately, the answer is, “those guys.” But while that’s true for now, as the video hints at, eventually the bill collector is going to come a’knocking.
(Also, as this is a German video, the statistics included at the end of the film stop with Germany’s whopping 10 tons of co2 per person. But let’s add in the US per capita emissions for American viewers, which in 2008 hit 19 tons per person–almost twice that of the average German.
